Instead if replacing the carpet, is it possible to spray paint it/dye it? Anyone have any experience with this? I think it would be sweet to do it all black, and the doors, etc. Thanks.

If its just faded and otherwise in decent shape, fabric/carpet dye works pretty well. Don't think you will be able to change the color of carpet though, it just doesn't work. Most auto paint and well stocked auto parts stores sell these products in spray can form. I've used black spray on faded black carpets in he past and it really freshened them up.
