go to a junkyard and find the metal hook with plastic threaded nut cap thing....it hooks to the body and runs up through the hole in the cardboard the plastic nut then tightens down on it ..walla no more stuff flyin round

On my charger i'm planning on buying a 1/4 sheet of hard board and cutting to fit then use velcro with a thin layer of material ( moving blanket)
then the hatch carpet on top.

there should actually be a couple screw ons on that hook one large metal wing nut to hold down the tire and a plastic nut slightly gigger than the hole in the fiberboard cover..once its all secured down the crpet is layed out and velcro holds it in place ...take a look in a freinds trunk as the design should be similar
