As the subject states, specifically where do I wire the boost gauge to? Can you tap into the fuse box? If you can which fuse is best to tap into?

More specific the answer the better.. I am a wiring moron

Tap into your dash light circuit. Just splice it into the wiring itself.

You can look at the diagram of the fuse box and can use the radio fuse (gauge will be lit all the time) or to your headlight/dashlight switch were the gauge will light up it when you have your headlights/dashlights on. You can just wrap the wire around the fuse and plug the fuse back in.

You can also look through the diagram of the fuse box and determine which fuses would be the best to run off of. Like the headlights/dashlights are generally only used at night so if you tap into that the backlight of the gauge will only be on at night. If you tap into the radio which is uasually always on the backlight will be on all the time. Tap into the windsheild washers and the backlight will only be on when the windshield wahsers are on.

I think the headlight/dashlight would be the best since you only need it backlit at night.

And then of course run your ground.

I hope this helps.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, rather than me buggering something up trying to splice wires, it'd be better to use the fusebox..

Now to find the correct fuse box cavity.. Looking at my trusty FSM, I see that on the G bodies cavity 14 looks to be the correct one, but I'm not entirely sure if it would be right..

Cavity 14 - Mechanical or Electronic Cluster, Body Computer, Message Center, Air Bag, Security Alarm.

Now I'm not sure if this means that that fuse is for the illumating said functions, or if its used for other things..

IE I'd prefer the gauge not to be on when the Alarm is armed.. Its only a 5 amp fuse, so I would gather it would only be for illumination, but I'd like to be sure so that my Air Bag doesn't go off when I connect the gauge.. LOL!

There's also 2 headlamp cavity's, I'm assuming that either one would work? Cavity 17 + 18 HeadLamps.

I spliced into the orange wire on the aftermarket stereo adapter harness I have in my car. The orange wire is the dimmer circuit.
