You can look at the diagram of the fuse box and can use the radio fuse (gauge will be lit all the time) or to your headlight/dashlight switch were the gauge will light up it when you have your headlights/dashlights on. You can just wrap the wire around the fuse and plug the fuse back in.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, rather than me buggering something up trying to splice wires, it'd be better to use the fusebox..
Now to find the correct fuse box cavity.. Looking at my trusty FSM, I see that on the G bodies cavity 14 looks to be the correct one, but I'm not entirely sure if it would be right..
Cavity 14 - Mechanical or Electronic Cluster, Body Computer, Message Center, Air Bag, Security Alarm.
Now I'm not sure if this means that that fuse is for the illumating said functions, or if its used for other things..
IE I'd prefer the gauge not to be on when the Alarm is armed.. Its only a 5 amp fuse, so I would gather it would only be for illumination, but I'd like to be sure so that my Air Bag doesn't go off when I connect the gauge.. LOL!
There's also 2 headlamp cavity's, I'm assuming that either one would work? Cavity 17 + 18 HeadLamps.
