I would suggest getting a spare interior and re-covering that. Keep your original, but no, you NEVER want to cover over existing.

The seat foam may also need to be changed. I suggest having the old upholstery ripped out. You'll get a chance to get some firmer seat foam, too. I'm having my seats re-upholstered in leather in my Lancer Shelby this month. Just the seats, not the doors though.

What kind of sub box do you plan on making? I have some setup pics that can give some inspiration if need be.

Yeah, there is some vinyling in the doors of my Lancer, but I think I'll just clean them up and re-dye them because they're still in good shape.

Hey, lemme know how it turns out for you. I need to get my drivers seat re-done but want a real factory look. If you know of a good place down there, I'd love to hear it. Be nice to have a place that can be trusted to do a good factory job

^Totally hear you on that one. But you know how it goes.. Trust + a good job = $$$.

I'm taking mine down to Custom Creations here in Chilliwack. The guy there, Derek does this stuff for a living.

Come visit and bring some ripe peaches with you.

Flex_m, cool stuff. Would have been nice with f/g in there. You'll get used to the stink, hehe.
It's lunchtime on my graveyard shift, so I got bored and felt like posting my build-up pics. I don't mean to steal the thread or anything, but it might give some inspiration.

I admit, I have some sort of addiction.

Got some vinyl action happening here with the doorpods. Mind the ugly orange speaker. It's a WIP.

Just what will you do with your Turbo Dodge?
