how to remove the lock from a glove box in an l-body?

does anyone know how to do this? i hear there's a trick to it but i cant get it haha

You need the key (the round headed glove box key, not the ignition/door/hatch key). I can't remember where I put mine so I can't test it, but I think you put the key in and turn the key and knob the opposite way that you turn to lock it and then pull the key and knob out of the glove box (the knob and lock cylinder come out as 1 piece).

Anybody that can actually find their glove box key please test this.
