title says it all... i am in the process of gutting a 85 charger carb and i can't get those front seats out. I tried to unbolt the brackets from the floor and i can't seem to get the bolts out at all, they spin but just won't come out. they are rusted a little if that matters. I tried to see if there was a nut or something to keep it from moving, but i can't find anything under the car.

just looking for some direction, thanks in advance.

Sounds like something is stripped. There are 4 mounting points. The two in the rear are studs that go through the floor. The fronts are bolted to the brace with clips on the inside that they screw into.

I've had the front bolts break off, or the clips break and spin with the bolt, if they do it's time to cut the bolt off and see what you can do from there. Rust sucks!

I had the same thing happen to mine. I just got under the bolt heads with a screwdriver and pried the head away from the bracket while spinning the bolt out with an air ratchet (manual ratchet or whatever will work). Then remove whats left of the clip nuts and replace them with new ones before you put the seats back in.

yea, for the two bolts inside the car (on the front of the seat in the very front of each bracket) begin with a manual ratchet, and then just get a screwdriver under the washer looking part and pry on it to apply pressure while at the same time loosening it... those will eventually come out... now as for underneath, i tried the air gun and a manual ratchet... the left side just rounded off and the right side (both on the driver's seat btw, i had no trouble with the pass. seat, i did all of the ones on it by reg. ratchet) but anyways the bolt underneath the car for the right side of the drivers seat just kept spinnin'... so, when all else fails, you grab a saw-zaw muahaha :big grin: i was only after the seats, i have enough brackets lying around as it is, so i just cut through them sumbiatches and dragged it out HAHA it was fun

good luck, them ones underneath are so rusted its unbelievable lol..
