Jeeeze......I actually try and go drive the R/T last night and I find that the ignition cylinder somehow has magically broken! The cylinder feels very "loose". It will turn, but it seems as though each normal key position is "off" one place from where it normally would be. Thus, when turning the key clockwise to start the car, the rotation maxes out in the "ON" position and not the "START" position.

So...it looks like I need a new ignition cylinder.

I tried to take the cylinder out last night, but found that Chrysler used some funky tamperproof Torx head screws to hold it in. Any of your guys know where the bit for screw this can be obtained?

Looks like the head on this screw is a Torx T15 tamperproof. I have never seen these screws before, but it looks like they arent all that hard to find.

I just got back from Advance Auto Parts with the bits and the cylinder lock is already out. It amazing how easy a job is with the right tools. I spent half an hour last night trying to figure out how to get those dang screws out without the right tool.

Turns out the lock cylinder had a piece broken off at the bottom. So, 13 bucks at the parts store will get a new cylinder and the problem will be solved.

I came across a 1991 Shadow in the u-pull-yard that had a pair of keys in the ignition (rare occurance!). Thinking I could use it for a spare I jumped right on it only to be stopped by those security torx bolts. I happened to find a carpenters nail-set in my tool kit and used it to deftly "knock" the little tits off and use the appropriate torx-driver to remove the pesky bolts. The bolts were shiny and made of rather soft metal.
