Ok, just got my 86 Daytona 2.2 TI 5 spd. and it handles like a dream, but there are quite a few rattles on the interior. The latch to release the T top on the passngr side rattles (either it or the trim), the dash in front of the passenger (I stuck my wallet in there and it mostly stopped ) And some vibration that I've yet to detect from where it's coming from. It's comming from somewhere in the hatch area. Also, would it be a good idea to go through and Lok-Tite everything? That way the rattles stop and don't return? Thanks a ton!

Ok, I also have a question on my T tops. I used my ignition key to unlock the passenger side top, and removed the top, but when I tried the driver's side, the key would fit in, but it wouldn't unlock! I went back and tried the passenger's side to see what I was doing that was working, and after two more successful unlocks on the pssngr side, it wouldn't unlock anymore! So now I have one off the car, that I can't unlock to put back on the car, and I have one on the car that I can't unlock to take off the car. Please help me!

TDs are infamous for their rattles and squeaks. I had to completely disassemble my console and dash trim panels. I then located all of the plastic on plastic contact points(there were a bunch) and used the thin, stick on weatherstripping material to eliminate these contact areas. I then used the smooth rubberized material that is used to line tool box drawers to completely line my console storage areas as well as the ashtray and glovebox. Next, I completely lubed all of the hatch contact points and used silicone spray to coat all of the rubber weatherstripping. All of the bolts were tight so the majority of the noise is from poor planning on the part of Mopar, that and the fact that these were cheap cars to begin with so lots of plastic is used. After doing all of these things, my cars are squeak and rattle free. It is like driving a different car. Much nicer and everyone that rides in them doesn't immediately think that they are pieces of crap from all the rattles. You don't realize how annoying the noise is, until you get rid of it.

Best bet for the T-Tops is to take the one you have off to a locksmith. It doesnt cost much to have keys made. All of my T-Top TD cars had different keys for the T-Tops than the ignition keys.

Yeah, I called the dealership today, and they said they don't have the key codes for the T tops. I just got off the phone with a locksmith and believe I'm going to take the one I have off to him and try to get a key made. Thanks for all the info and I'll let you know how much $$$ it sets me back.
