Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

Well, it goes!

I finally got it all back together tonight. :amen: I took it for a 10 mile run up the road to get some fresh 93 gasoline and blow it out. The mini trans shifts right on! I wasn't able to get a tach/speedo reading since I must have pulled the speedo cable out of the speedo head when I dropped the original tranny. I'll have to pull my mini's build sheet to see what the the final drive ratio is...its definalty geared to get off the line quick.

The car idles MUCH better after a few WOT runs, no more heavy loping & black exhaust.... So, now all I have left to do is fix the charging system problem, install some new wipers and bushings and replace the master cyl (which I have on hand).

It ran out great and definalty isn't you Grandmas carbed L body!!

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

Sweeeet! I personally LOVE the carbd SDs! Ive had(in order) an '85 GLH N/A(parted out), '84 GLH N/A(still have this one), '86 Omni carbd auto(totalled), '84 GLH(rusted out!), and my recently acquired '84 GLH clone(parting out)! My brother in law DDs his '83.5 SC and loves it!

While these arent the fastest cars by anymeans they are an absolute HOOT to drive. Just think GoKart! Not fast but quick and fun to drive flat out as fast as you can!

All you need now Rick is some Twin SideDraft 40s! ;)

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

The charging system is fixed. The PO had installed a new alt and reg. The alt tested good, I replaced the reg with a known good one and all was well!

Now its down to the wiper bushings & master cyl! If I can get the master cyl on tomorrow I'll drive it to work Saturday for a alignment.

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

Here are a couple updated pics. I received the new license plate Friday. If you followed the thread its the original tag # from when the car was new.

I picked up the repro Direct Connection plate off eBay.

So far the car is running great!

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

When Bill and Marshall were by Sunday Bill and I spoke briefly about the next meet. He and his wife have a baby due and he doesn’t want to be too far from home in case something comes up. I mentioned doing something down his way.

Reaper, what’s your school schedule look like? What about the rest of the J-ville guys?

Lets take it here for all to follow: https://www.turbododge.com/forums/f1/...ml#post1348176

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

I picked up a couple pieces I was missing for the Shelby Charger. I think I have just about bought this place out of all the old MP Performance and DC parts they have for our cars...

NOS MP Performance 2.2/2.5 Plug wires (ultra rare) and a A413 shift kit.

Re: Shelby Charger featured in Shelby Times #4 found in weeds

This weekend I took the car on a little road trip up to Gainesville. I stopped by Gainesville Dodge to see if they had any of the dealer decals (Gainesville Dodge) for the SC.

I went to the parts counter, explained what I was looking for, and fortuanlty the parts guy knew who made the decals for their dealership and gave me a contact name and #.

The dealership, at some point, changed the design of the decal but he knew exactly the design that was once on my car.

Whats even better is the compay who does their decals also does them for the dealership I work for.
