Iíve spent some time thinking about whether to make this post and decided that some things left unchallenged seem to linger as true to the uninformed rumor mongers. Frankly I donít have much respect for those types and donít really care. But, there may be people I do respect that have heard these rumors and are too considerate to ask. I know weíve heard from a few of them at least two today. Rather than leave it lingering I decided to address it, though, as a set of uninformed rumors, it deserves no cadence. Itís come to my attention that Josh Hueber (a.k.a. Kipp Raines, turbo-mopar and other aliasí) has been spreading some untrue information about me and Cindy. From what I can tell he feels like he waited to long for a custom VNT turbo where there was no core provided and Tony spent some time trying to locate. So he is a bit disgruntled and I suppose I get that if one is not privy to the nature of this niche market. Some folks havenít been at this long enough to remember when there were essentially no vendors. What I donít get is why he would make up and spread rumors such as Cindy and I are getting a divorce? It strikes me as very personal. I have been happily married to Cindy for 23 years now. She is a great wife and mother. We have 3 wonderful children and will no doubt die a ripe old age hand in hand. To be honest, I have felt for some time that she wears too many hats and works too hard to please everyone, which we know is an impossible task. Another one, FWD Performance is going out of business because we are going broke. Well, no not yet and certainly not because of money. Sure some day when it is no longer fun or we (she) is ready to try something new. Worse though, Josh, Kipp or whatever his name is, decides itís a great idea to post our home address on Facebook to somehow prove we are going broke. Sure a couple of quick searches and you find the shop for sale, a tax search and you find me as the owner and my address. Another search on that address and you find my home. So now all the internet freaks on his ridiculous Facebook page know where we live; again very personal. I suppose to make his uninformed conclusion amongst the peanut gallery that subscribes to the page he thinks this gives his story credibility. If you didnít know any more than that and you factored in a vivid imagination I suppose you could get there but why even try? Really, get a life. So weíve been at this turbo Dodge/Shelby stuff for a while. Long enough for two kids to grow up and move out. Yes, we are getting old. Our oldest is probably not much younger than Kipp. Anyway, Exxon-Mobil is opening a huge campus near-by and the market is hot. I can recover all my equity and make a small profit getting rid of this mammoth 4500 square foot empty house. So yes, the house is for sale but we are not moving into a card board box. And yes, the shop is for sale/lease. Turns out something we call the Grand Parkway puts our shop on or near the frontage road. Property values all around have sky rocketed so I am excited at the prospect of selling, building something newer and closer to our new property while pocketing a few more dollars. So thanks but, we are far from destitute and FWD Performance is not going broke. It is true that as a business the FWD Turbo Dodge/Shelby market is not a money maker, never was, never will be. We do this, or I should say Cindy does this, for the love of the cars, the people and the hobby despite my objections. I support her when and if she needs it in any way I can. If you want to be married for any period of time, you will give your wife a bit of leeway where and when you can. That is a two-way street BTW. Still, Kipp reminds me that there are customers better suited to your competition. Customers you do not want or need. Over the many years weíve had a few unhappy customers. Most of which we are able to come to some mutually agreeable resolution even in cases where fault was hardly arguable. Kipp is not the first to start a blog or a Facebook page to bash us. Kipp is the first to work so hard to get so personal and spread false rumors about our marriage and other half-truths. Perhaps itís a generational thing. It certainly detracts from the joy of assisting people trying to build their project or restore their first car. So I hope this settles these rumors and shines a little light on their roots. The day will come when FWD Performance will close its doors but, it wonít be because of divorce, money or idiots spreading rumors on Facebook, it will be because itís time to do something else. Until then donít let these rumors and idiots deter you. We are very happy to do everything we can to help you with any aspect of your car.
I am a relatively newby to mid 80's turbo dodge cars. However, I have ordered thousands in parts (which we all know on these cars is A LOT of parts) from Cindy. She has always been there and done a great job. The problem with the internet, and I have seen it on other forums too....is that people are quick to talk from the comfort of their own home located behind a computer screen.
If anyone EVER thinks that the right way to handle a solution and get someone to help you is to publicly bash them...then they are sadly mistaken. I won't speak for FWD, but if I were them, I wouldn't do ANYTHING to help those that bash over the internet, instead of speaking about it to come up with a viable solution.
Cindy and the team at FWD performance have always done great things, and what wasn't right (because you'll never not make mistakes or please everyone) always made it right with a quick call.
Cindy is a wealth of knowledge and you can tell that she is passionate about these cars.
To FWD...don't let anyone deter you guys from dong the great work that you do. Can thing be better...they ALWAYS can...however, with that said, you guys do an awesome job and are a great service to these cars. Keep up the great work!!!
