Rumors and FWD Performance

Iíve spent some time thinking about whether to make this post and decided that some things left unchallenged seem to linger as true to the uninformed rumor mongers. Frankly I donít have much respect for those types and donít really care. But, there may be people I do respect that have heard these rumors and are too considerate to ask. I know weíve heard from a few of them at least two today. Rather than leave it lingering I decided to address it, though, as a set of uninformed rumors, it deserves no cadence. Itís come to my attention that Josh Hueber (a.k.a. Kipp Raines, turbo-mopar and other aliasí) has been spreading some untrue information about me and Cindy. From what I can tell he feels like he waited to long for a custom VNT turbo where there was no core provided and Tony spent some time trying to locate. So he is a bit disgruntled and I suppose I get that if one is not privy to the nature of this niche market. Some folks havenít been at this long enough to remember when there were essentially no vendors. What I donít get is why he would make up and spread rumors such as Cindy and I are getting a divorce? It strikes me as very personal. I have been happily married to Cindy for 23 years now. She is a great wife and mother. We have 3 wonderful children and will no doubt die a ripe old age hand in hand. To be honest, I have felt for some time that she wears too many hats and works too hard to please everyone, which we know is an impossible task. Another one, FWD Performance is going out of business because we are going broke. Well, no not yet and certainly not because of money. Sure some day when it is no longer fun or we (she) is ready to try something new. Worse though, Josh, Kipp or whatever his name is, decides itís a great idea to post our home address on Facebook to somehow prove we are going broke. Sure a couple of quick searches and you find the shop for sale, a tax search and you find me as the owner and my address. Another search on that address and you find my home. So now all the internet freaks on his ridiculous Facebook page know where we live; again very personal. I suppose to make his uninformed conclusion amongst the peanut gallery that subscribes to the page he thinks this gives his story credibility. If you didnít know any more than that and you factored in a vivid imagination I suppose you could get there but why even try? Really, get a life. So weíve been at this turbo Dodge/Shelby stuff for a while. Long enough for two kids to grow up and move out. Yes, we are getting old. Our oldest is probably not much younger than Kipp. Anyway, Exxon-Mobil is opening a huge campus near-by and the market is hot. I can recover all my equity and make a small profit getting rid of this mammoth 4500 square foot empty house. So yes, the house is for sale but we are not moving into a card board box. And yes, the shop is for sale/lease. Turns out something we call the Grand Parkway puts our shop on or near the frontage road. Property values all around have sky rocketed so I am excited at the prospect of selling, building something newer and closer to our new property while pocketing a few more dollars. So thanks but, we are far from destitute and FWD Performance is not going broke. It is true that as a business the FWD Turbo Dodge/Shelby market is not a money maker, never was, never will be. We do this, or I should say Cindy does this, for the love of the cars, the people and the hobby despite my objections. I support her when and if she needs it in any way I can. If you want to be married for any period of time, you will give your wife a bit of leeway where and when you can. That is a two-way street BTW. Still, Kipp reminds me that there are customers better suited to your competition. Customers you do not want or need. Over the many years weíve had a few unhappy customers. Most of which we are able to come to some mutually agreeable resolution even in cases where fault was hardly arguable. Kipp is not the first to start a blog or a Facebook page to bash us. Kipp is the first to work so hard to get so personal and spread false rumors about our marriage and other half-truths. Perhaps itís a generational thing. It certainly detracts from the joy of assisting people trying to build their project or restore their first car. So I hope this settles these rumors and shines a little light on their roots. The day will come when FWD Performance will close its doors but, it wonít be because of divorce, money or idiots spreading rumors on Facebook, it will be because itís time to do something else. Until then donít let these rumors and idiots deter you. We are very happy to do everything we can to help you with any aspect of your car.

Re: Rumors and FWD Performance

Glad you came out and said something bud. As personal as this has got I would have myself as well. I actually got asked myself by some members some questions along the lines of what was going on. As well as I know you and Cindy I almost had to laugh when I heard this stuff. I like to think of myself as a good friend of you and Cindys and I really hate to hear all of this crap going on. I think its awesome that you guys put so much of your time and money into this community and sometimes I wish others would have a little more respect for that. I myself have been to FWD a handful of times now and have been treated like family there. I dont think im anyone "special" as I started out as just a customer like most do. I liked how FWD actually cares about the same kind of cars that I do and over time became good friends with FWD as anyone could. I know some have had issues with either parts not working right or shipping taking too long but if you were to shadow Cindy for a day you might know why some things dont get handled like they were a Summit of Jegs or McMaster Carr. She is usually on the phone 90% of her day answering newbie ?s over and over again. Part of that is most any aftermarket suppliers dont have the time of day or they dont know our cars exist let alone how to modify one. Cindys love for these cars are the reason she is here and doing this for us. I will be the first to tell you I dont always get and answer or when shes yells "I will call you right back!" I laugh and say "ya right I will talk to you next week lol". So if the ones that have had issues could cut a little slack I think it would make FWD want to keep helping us out and keep our cars going down the road and hopefully faster and faster all the time. I know I have not heard everyones issue with them but I would think they would do what they could to make it right. Now lets hope everyone can get back to wrenching on your cars instead of sitting behind a keyboard starting rumors like this one.

I don't TYPICALLY take sides and am a positive person by nature however! I'd stand up for Cindy because she has stood up for me and helps support my Shelby addiction with dedication, selection and fair pricing every single day, many nights, and weekends...maybe even a holiday or two.

I couldn't agree more with this posters comments quoted above. Cindy and the entire FWDPerformance team has over the years been very good to me, my friends and our small niche community. If it were not for this outfit, I'm not sure I would be enjoying the Shelby Dodge hobby at the levels that I currently do. What a luxury it is to simply pick up the phone or tablet and place an order for almost anything I need to keep any one of my 4 TDs on the road. I've bought everything from $10 oil filters that I can't get ANYWHERE else to complete cars from Cindy and w/few exceptions, it has ALWAYS been exactly to my liking and expectations. Any problem I ever had w/an order was resolved in a timely manner and to my complete satisfaction. I have spent thousands and thousands of $$ with this outfit, and I don't plan on stopping anytime in the near future. I have even considered on several occasions driving from Atlanta Georgia (Now the beaches of North Carolina) out to Spring TX just to get some parts that could just as easily be shipped USPS, and to hang out with her/them. The last time I drove to Spring was to pick up a GLHS I bought from her and she invited me to lunch on her nickle.

So to the nay-sayers that have nothing better to do w/their life but to get personal over a business transaction and blame the others rather than work together for an equitable solution...here is what I have to offer you in Cindy's/FWDPerformance's defense:

And to her husband...good job and kudos for making a stand. If every woman had a man like you the divorce courts would be totally empty. You ooze safety and security and I'm sure Cindy sleeps well at night just because you are a genuine man, the type any healthy woman would cherish and feel safe with.

And to the absolute mouse propagating the personal rumors, please refer to the photo above... or below if you are immature as you seem to be! Pffft! I say to you sir.

Thanks for all the kind words folks. A cursory review of his (Kipp Raines) friends list on Facebook shows all the usual suspects.

In business u cannot keep "all" youre customers happy "all" of the time. It seems to me this individual went past the line of decency. You have been in business over 10 years , provided great service, are very knowledgeable, great prices. We all know td people are the cheapest of the bunch(u wont hear the Bmw or Supra crowd Bitc* like we do). I tip my hat to You and Cindy For "PUTTING UP" with us

Cindy really does go the extra mile on the phone....just out of curiousity, it might be fun to hear what she has to say are the most frequently asked questions and approximately how many times shes been asked them...i bet its in the 1000's if not 10 thousands

I am a relatively newby to mid 80's turbo dodge cars. However, I have ordered thousands in parts (which we all know on these cars is A LOT of parts) from Cindy. She has always been there and done a great job. The problem with the internet, and I have seen it on other forums too....is that people are quick to talk from the comfort of their own home located behind a computer screen.

If anyone EVER thinks that the right way to handle a solution and get someone to help you is to publicly bash them...then they are sadly mistaken. I won't speak for FWD, but if I were them, I wouldn't do ANYTHING to help those that bash over the internet, instead of speaking about it to come up with a viable solution.

Cindy and the team at FWD performance have always done great things, and what wasn't right (because you'll never not make mistakes or please everyone) always made it right with a quick call.

Cindy is a wealth of knowledge and you can tell that she is passionate about these cars.

To FWD...don't let anyone deter you guys from dong the great work that you do. Can thing be better...they ALWAYS can...however, with that said, you guys do an awesome job and are a great service to these cars. Keep up the great work!!!

Re: Rumors and FWD Performance

I have only purchased 1 item and yes Ive bitched about the shipping issues im sure FWD has had their share of questions and bitching. untill I read this I had no idea that this is a fun thing and trying to help others and enjoy the same lil addiction that we have.
I know in my area finding a Daytona running thats not in the junk yard is getting impossible. my project suffers because i cant get parts here but some parts I can I always do the pros and cons. the paint alone for my car was 800 bucks CDN of course. black and sunburst orange. anyway if we lose people like Cindy and her Hubby we all lose.

I do hope for continued growth for FWDP frankly because we need them to enjoy what we do.

or in short good job nuff said

Re: Rumors and FWD Performance

I haven't heard anything negative against FWP,but I've been busy reading all the stuff about Ken Herring over at yellowbullet. Now that's a situation! Although I have never met you or Cindy, I still feel you are my friends as you contribute so much to this community. I remember all the stuff about the vnt looser and grandmother but if anyone took the time to read it they would see you did no wrong. Please keep at it and all the best to you and Cindy!!

Thanks
