98 3.3L in 1995 Acclaim

Possibly picking up a parts van with a 3.3L 4-speed. Getting sick of dealing with issues from the PO on my 95 Acclaim (2.5L), so I've been thinking about swapping the drivetrain.

How much work would it be to put this 98 3.3L/4-speed in it?

The car is clean, so I want to keep it going, and I'm getting the van for nothing. I figure a 3.3l 4-speed will be about perfect for the old girl.

Re: 98 3.8L in 1995 Acclaim

If this is a no go I will be getting a harness from a 3.0/4-speed car and swapping in the van's old engine and the 4-speed I have sitting in the garage.

The engine should literally just bolt up. I think it's the same motor mounts at the late 2.5L. The only problem you will have is wiring.

Here's the swap I'm basing mine on.

Wiring is what I was figuring would be the issue. I think I've decided to do the 3.0L/4-speed instead as I know that is a simple swap everything in the engine bay and it's done. Already started making go fast goodies for the 3.0 anyway. ;)
