Unhappy All forward gears but no reverse! please help asap

Hey guys. I just moved from nyc to sunny jacksonville florida, and the 1st thing that happened was my overkill torque converter breaking my flexplate..so i got ghe correct turbo flexplate with arp bolts and a hi output starter to match,

When i dropped my transmission i baught a transgo shift kit and went to a local transmission shop and baught a used valve body. I didnt feel comfortable drilling threw the gasket but i replaced the inner springs on the ud & od hubs. As soon as i started my car i put it into reverse and to my suprise the wheels WENT FORWARD, in the park position it stays in park. In drive it drives.. i still have my original valve body and im thinking ill have to put that badboy back in.

Please chime in guys on what couldve went wrong, the car isnt showing any codes and im not hearing any grinding
