Re: 1994 Lebaron convert Hemi rwd project

I left the airbox in mine and cut around it, so as not to take out any more than needed. I only took it out to finish welding. Depending on your transmission choice, you may be able to leave the top of the center reinforcement alone.
Brace the hell out of the back half before you start cutting, it WILL move around.

Re: 1994 Lebaron convert Hemi rwd project

I see you have a picture of the underside of my 88 Shelby. Check out the 1990 RWD conversion in this same forum and you'll see there is a lot better way to do this conversion.

Re: 1994 Lebaron convert Hemi rwd project

Ill be adding picts soon.... I received my k member kit and hemi mounts from Kenny Exline, bought a 8.8 ford rear from a 92 ranger 373 locker, triangler rear suspension from ebay rear coil-overs from checker racing and other several parts ......... I have all interior out, rear floor cut out, installing rear, and tomorrow installing frame connecters to my fabricated rear frame. I will take picts and lable them maybe tomorrow. I still need a bump steer kit - where are they the cheapest ??... Hopefully I'll have the chassis work done by the weekend... then transmission tunnel and fngine mounting will begin...PICTS coming hopefully tomorrow...If I get time...

Re: 1994 Lebaron convert Hemi rwd project

If you don't have torque management, you might want to do something about that trans.
either find one that uses a slip yoke or youre gonna break the flex couplers or you're gonna be using heavy driveshafts for that car unless you have a custom made slip tube shaft.

I'd use another trans or change the tail to a slip yoke.

It is a slip yoke. Thanks anyway ! broke my arm on the april 28th so I have been working on other stuff like painting the engine compartment and TRYing to scrape and bedline the underneath.....Depressinggggggg.....Does anybody know if I should use the factory throttle pedal ? my tranny tunnel seems to be in the way. I was thiking about relocating the brake pedel to the left. JUST the pedal...not the arm. I Will be posting a pic of the engine compartment tonight yet when it is done downloading.. Thanks

Re: 1994 Lebaron convert Hemi rwd project

I used use the original throttle pedal and moved it over about an inch and also bend the brake pedal to move it over a little also.
