OK, i have been lately receiving questions about turboing a 3.0 and still use the stock ecu. Now I know the best way is Megasquirt or Emanage blue piggy back. that isn't what i want this thread to reflect. I want to build the "cheap turbo" thread. a bear bones stock ecu set up for the guy who just wants to go fast... well fast!!!LOL so please post away! and yes this will be a sticky soon!
Just look for one with a single in and a single out. some of the 3000gt are a 2 in and 2 out because they are twin turbos. the sizing should be inline with your throttle body diameter. by keeping it as close to the same size you keep the lag time down just a little bit. so if your using a 52 or 58mm throttle body look for innercooler and piping the same size.
Been driving my Holset powered Spirit to work about 6 days a week for about 2 years and nothing power related has gone wrong with the motor.
Eventually got it up to 10psi last summer before some races. Boost simply means resistance to flow so 10psi is not always equal.
The reason I would want an OBX diff in my Spirit would be the same reason it is sitting on jackstands, I have to do some repairs to the transmission. I believe there is something wrong with the stock diff.
lol OBX.... pussy shit. WELD IT!!!!!!!!! my dailys fine with a welded diff. probably eat tires faster... actually it does, but it grips like a mother ****er
hey guy iv been thinking about trying this 3.0 turbo bulid i just wanted to know how relieable it is and what times you are runing and the boost you are pushing at that time just trying to see if it is something id like to do
I think your question would be better suited for a thread of your own instead of post this question in the stickie section.
