Re: The BMF intake is BACK for 2017!
I think that remaining 5% might all want things so individually different that maybe instead of another version of the BMF ., a line of parts for people building their own intakes might be a better train of thought
say custom intake or throttle body or plenium bases made to order ,flanges, etc
one of us nutters might want a huge throttle body - a weld on option for the bmf might be an idea
I've been saving a pic of something I'd like to copy myself .. but change
I have no idea now who posted this pic or who made the part but it's a basic shape many could probably use in different projects
personally I'd like it thick enough to transition from a 45mm round hole to a 655 port .. but there would be an upward bias to the round hole's center
(but then I'd like to weld up the tops of the ports behind the valve cover flange and raise the "655" port --so any standard style part won't work for me or won't have the same fit as other's projects )
for others a flange that moves the intake to head bolts to above and below the ports might help .. then you can round out the side of the ports and eliminate the inclusion that allowed for the intake bolts on one side
- there appears to be enough material in the head to redrill the intake bolts above and below the ports .. lol as long as you don't raise the port opening in the head .. you can go right through the rail for the valve cover for an intake bolt or two and one below the port that may or may not hit water like the exhaust studs do in one row
even a budget / porter's flange that's only 3/8 's thick or so that simply welds to the head to intake surface on anyone's two or one piece would allow the bolts to be moved
