Added intercooler

If I add an intercooler to a T1 car, do I have to change the computer?

Re: Added intercooler

what exactly do you mean by T1 ?

OLD style suck through throttle body log turbo (84-7) or the non intercooled later blow through style throttle body?

noting the 84 posted as your car

'cause for the old style , yeah , computer needed if using the mopar intercooler kit

Re: Added intercooler

The factory computer will take you safely up to about 14psi. A custom calibration will be programmed for a little extra performance but there just isn't much still available for the 89 Acclaim even though it basically shares the same TI engine as the rest of the k-car platform.

You can get a complete g-valve/grainger valve/manual boost(MBC) solution over at turbododgeparts.com

https://www.turbododgeparts.com/html...er_valves.html

It comes with everything needed for a turbo Dodge installation, a detailed installation FAQ as well as a nano filter (in your choice of colors) which is rarely if ever included in any other kit.
