super 60 roller?

Looking for a roller cam with the same profile as the super 60 Mopar slider cam. Who makes this?

Re: super 60 roller?

Yes, I did all the work on my bridgeport mill. I am currently running a super 60 slider and would like to go to a roller profile.

Re: super 60 roller?

my cursory Google search showed the 'Taft S-2' is/was a roller version of the S60..
but I didn't see them currently FS anywhere..

and couldn't find ANY cams on the fwdperf website,, dunno if it was me or .

forward motion lists 2 'Turbo' cams but quite a few (also cheaper) N/A cams.

Re: super 60 roller?

I have never read that anywhere. All sources have told me that The R4+ is the correct S60 specs transferred to a roller profile. There's a big write up on it over on turbo mopar. Chris Wright(Turbos Unleashed) says he has very few left. He was wanting $325 for one last time I talked to him.

Re: super 60 roller?

Taft S2 is no where near S60 slider. just look at listing for Taft S3 (Full Race) and it still isn't an S60 replacement.

R5 is closer but slightly reverse engineered favoring the exhaust side.

The R5 and FWD F4 as well as Taft S3 are prob the closest "off the shelf" rollers to an S60 slider.

Simon (turbovanman?) was trying to get a roller version of the S60 made years ago and I thought he had at least a few that got out there, although I can't confirm whether they were actually close or not.

There are other prototype rollers that are still in the testing stages that are beyond the S60 slider, but that's for another day...….

Re: super 60 roller?

Rob, Chris Wright swears up and down that his R4+ is an exact match of the specs of Simon's cam. Remember the "+" is in there. That's supposed to indicate it's a different cam I guess.

Re: super 60 roller?

Now that I'm thinking about it Rob, I have a P4452899 sitting here.(300/300 cam) I have the high performance rockers, but I don't have the solid adjusters yet. Do you think anything can be done with this cam as far as a turbo application with the right calibration? The St. Louis guys were considering experimenting with it in our Charger drag car.

Where did you get this from? I've never heard it myself, but if it's true I need to do some checking......

That's a Monster! Biggest possible issue right off the batt is the overlap. Would have to run some #'s, but you'd need a monster ported head with a properly designed/built header for sure!

Re: super 60 roller?

Cam specs;

S60 slider; 112 LSA, Dur [email protected], .499 valve lift

F4 roller; 115.125 LSA, Dur 236/220.5 @ .050, .478/.468 valve lift

R5 roller; 114.625 LSA, Dur 227/219 @ .050, .490/.501 valve lift

R4+ roller; 112 LSA, Dur 217/216.5 @ .050, .495/ .498.75 valve lift

Note; The F4, R5 and R 4+ specs are courtesy of Todd N.(4 L-bodies)

So on paper, the TU R4+ Looks like a roller replacement for the S60 slider, albeit with slightly less duration. Having said that, I don't Know it has less duration because the S60 slider specs were taken from Mopar catalog which also stated 260/260 duration (@ .006 I'm guessing)

The R4+ @ .006 is 263.6/ 268 so who knows, could be nuts on...…...

Re: super 60 roller?

I love that, because I usually take everything the vendors say with a grain of salt! They want to sell sell sell! But at what cost sometimes?

I was messaging Chris on Facebook when he told me about the R4+ and sent me links to Simon's thread on TM. If I was smart, I should have just compared the cam specs myself. I'm never really in a hurry with these builds, though. I do need to pick one up before they're gone. He quoted me $325 and said he only had a few left. This was a year ago.
