Mopar Performance Lift .460 Purple Cam

This is for an 84 Rampage with 2.2L engine.

Getting ready to tune the engine pretty soon. I've been into a major rewire under the hood, got about half done. The Rampage was Mopar Griffin's before I bought it. It was the kids first resto, have to give him credit for all the mods. He stated that there was a Mopar .460 purple cam installed. However, there was no information about this part in all the stuff that came with it. He's no longer into Mopars, now he is a Jeep fanatic jumping along the backroads.

Been Googling this purple cam and keep coming up short. Only part number I've been able to find here is for the valve spring.

Does anyone know more about this particular cam? What I'm hoping to find are the specs so I can tune it correctly. BTW, there is a supercharger installed if it makes a difference.

Sounds like the same cam I'm running. Most guys just refer to it by the last 3 digits of the P/N. It's a "767" cam. It was the largest hydraulic N/A cam MP offered. It's a good cam, but I'll have to dig out my old 2.2 performance book to get you actual specs. I do remember the .460" lift, and duration was about 240-244*. I just installed mine straight up, and left it there. Pulls hard to at least 6500 rpm. Has a little lope at idle, but not much. With the 10:1 compression & ported head on my 2.2, it works well. I've always been happy with it.

Re: Mopar Performance Lift .460 Purple Cam

83scamp, you are the Jedi Master for us Scampage enthusiasts! Hope both your rebuilds are going well.

No rush, but if you happen to run across any more info on that cam, I would most definitely appreciate it.

My rewire project has gone slowly, got the engine passenger side pretty wrapped up. Putting the finishing touches on the distributor clamp for the Flamethrower so it clears the block and lines up with the hole. Next step are the fusible links (UGH). I HATE FUSIBLE LINKS! Prior experience with my 70 GTO when I was a teenager got me stranded in the middle of nowhere once, with a gal along to boot. So cliche (Gee, I must have run outa gas). Remember that one! Funny, never saw her again after that...

May the farce be with you!

NM, I was able to get the Mopar Performance cam specs. Just wanted to let you know so this doesn't take any time away from your rebuilds.

Glad to hear you got them. Truth is, I kinda forgot...

I haven't seen my MP book in a year, not sure where I put it.... ??

I did go out to the garage last night and organized all the parts I've bought. I have all the hard parts for the engine, just need to find the time to turn some wrenches.... This time of year, that's the tough part...

Glad to see I'm not alone with this perspective. Yours looks like a pretty clean setup.

There's an old story about me and a gal in my GTO back in the 70s.

Just wait until my engine compartment is done, I'll post my pics here. Got some crazy things going on...
