Microsquirt and 2000 Dodge Magnum info?

Does anyone know of a write-up or thread that shows info. on this particular combination?
I found the classic ignition section on DIYauto but it seems vague on the magnum engines.
My main questions are the settings for crank/cam in tunerstudio.
Basemap to get the engine started would be sweet but I’ve read its best to start from scratch.
Thanks for any and all links.

Re: Microsquirt and 2000 Dodge Magnum info?

I presume this is you?
Megasquirt Support Forum (MSEXTRA) ? Hardware Settings for Micro on 5.9 Dodge? (View topic)

Nobody use Megatune anymore. TunerStudio and MegaLog Viewer are the software to use.

What method are you going to use the read the crank signal? Stock crank sensor? Adding a 36-1 wheel? What are you going to use for ignition? Wasted spark?

Yes, I just got registered version of TS Ultra and MegaLog HD.
Originally after some short studies before purchase I figured I could use all factory sensors with batch fire/injection and wasted spark.
After watching ALL of Whittles Utube vids I see the 8 tooth wheel doesn’t give much resolution for idle speeds.

I’m just not sure what hardware settings to do use with micro V3.
I will continue reading the manuals while I get this engine installed.
If I have to buy a 36-1 wheel or other things I may just pull the sniper off my truck and put this on a BB 451 engine instead.
All depends on if I can figure this out before I get the magnum engine done/installed.

Re: Microsquirt and 2000 Dodge Magnum info?

I'm not familiar with V8 so my information could be wrong.

8 tooth wheel should work fine, and someone already give you hardware settings at MSextra website.

With Microsquirt and a V8, you will not have any extra outputs left over since you'll need those for ignition. I used my Microsquirt two outputs for fan control and a/c cut off relay.

You'll need to use a 2 wire high idle valve or 2 wire pwn idle controller. Stock 4 wire iac will not work.

MS has a total of 36 wires, I'm sure you can figure it out.

I first separated the engine harness, labeled every wire, kept the ones I needed and cut the one I didn't.

I used a Qaudspark to drive my 420A coil, not cheap but it is simple and easy.

Mounted my 420A coil onto plugged distributor.

Re: Microsquirt and 2000 Dodge Magnum info?

Thanks for the info.
I now see the other reply and got to the part in the manual where the settings are.
I'll have to get everything wired up and then come back for more questions later.

Man, After seeing your pics I sure wish I still had my 84 Turbo Z car.
Back in the late 90's I rebuilt the engine and turbo.
Installed kb hyper pistons and total seal rings. Turned boost up to 10ish from factory 7.
Crunched front bumper and hood. Car sat for years and finally let it go to the wrecker.....Bummer.
That car was cool.
