No problem, and yeah, I can believe it.

Just talking with a guy at work yesterday about parts prices. He sent his wife to Autozone for a wiper blade for her Avenger. Cost her $28 for 1!!! I told him to go to Rock Auto. They have Trico's right now for $1.90!!!! I bought a set for my Daytona, and 6 WIX oil filters. Can use the filters on both the Daytona & Scamp. Walmart has the best deal on oil, but the local store only carries Fram filters, and I won't use them.... I hate to walk into a parts store and just buy filters, but they want $10 more for a 5 qt jug of oil than Walmart...

Re: 86 Daytona Turbo Z T Top

Speaking of parts. I need to find a automatic trans mount. There seems to be two different sizes. The one listed wont even fit in mount bracket. I have an 88 manual trans mount bracket that the larger mount should fit in but will it work on an auto trans?

No, the auto trans mount is different than the 5 speed. I had to locate a 5 speed mount when I converted mine over. Unfortunately, the auto mount went with the trans when I sold it...

Also, remember that Chrysler changed the mounts in 90. 84-89 are the same. Make sure the mount you are looking at isn't for a 90(or for a Lebaron they were different as well). Pretty easy to tell. The older mounts are square, the later mounts are kind of triangular.

Re: 86 Daytona Turbo Z T Top

Well got really busy at work but did get the breaks and wipers working just fine.,Car rides nice with new bushings . Now its time to pull drivers side fender off old Tona in back yard and install on the 86. Of course I have started doing bushings on 89 Daytona , so I will have to finish that first.

Re: 86 Daytona Turbo Z T Top

Well back to the 86 . Getting ready to pull engine. Doing bearings , seals and possibly swap from old t1 log to later modle t1 set up. Maybe install intercooler while I'm at it.

86 Daytona Turbo Z T Top-kimg0921.jpg tappet looks worn but not sure yet.

Well took engine out. pulled oil pan and looked over bearings. everything looked great.
Then I went and pulled valve cover and what a mess.
is it an easy swap from flat tappet to roller. I have roller cam lifters tappets. Do I need to swap springs as well?

Re: 86 Daytona Turbo Z T Top

Got everthing back together last weekend. Found a cam rockers and some lifters I had laying around. All in good shape. A lot better shape than what was in there.
