Hi,
I am working on my '85 GLH Turbo. Is the positive wire from battery to starter with molded connection to starter still available? anywhere, aftermarket? any tips ...thanks
Had an issue recently and the starter would not stop cranking even with the ignition key off. I think the problem is with the starter switch. I found the small wire at the starter solenoid melted. I allowed, drove for about 1/4 mile, with this problem until I realized it wasn't just a noisy accessory belt. I smelled burning wires and immediately stopped. when I turned the key to the off position the starter was still cranking and white smoke was coming from the bellhousing timing window. I am not gonna take any chances with the starter and am replacing it along with the starter switch.
Thanks all!
