metal oil caps wanted

I'm looking to buy some metal oil caps found on our late 80's turbo dodges, just like the ones used for the Shelby oil cap from Positive Impressions back in the day.

I have some left over reproduction medallions and I want to see if I can reproduce the original Shelby oil cap.

Seeing as shipping to Canada would likely prevent me from buying 1 at a time, I'm looking for at least 6, so save on shipping costs.

Re: metal oil caps wanted

Think they were only on 86-88 cars. Something like that. Somewhat tough to find 30+ years later. I had 4 NOS medallions and I did the same thing.

This would be my 1st attempt at making an oil cap with a metal original. I have plenty of experience making the reproduction with a drilled plastic cap though.

I would not want to promise a finished cap to someone not having made one before.

First thing I guess is that I need several more metal caps (I currently only have 2).

If those turn out good, and there is an adequate supply of metal caps I can get my hands on, then I'll look to place another order of reproduction medallions.

What kind of "deal" were you proposing ?

Re: metal oil caps wanted

That's not an OEM cap from Dodge, but it appears to be metal design though I can't be sure from the photo provided

Re: metal oil caps wanted

I bought 2 of those from Positive Impressions years ago. Not sure what kind of adhesive he used, but the Shelby medallion fell off before the first oil change. I never installed the second one I bought.
I would love to get 2 more for my 89 CSX VNT Cars.

Hi Willy. My ability to produce some additional Shelby oil caps (with a metal original), is dependent on how many oil caps I can find and the price people are willing to pay.

The reproduction medallions would cost me approx. $20 each (a little less if I have a larger order placed). Add in the cost of the metal oil cap itself, bead blasting, priming, refinishing, adhesive, etc. and the costs could actually exceed what people are willing to pay (especially since it's a reproduction medallion).

I'll continue to look into the possibility of doing this project, but to get it off the ground I'd need a minimum of 10-12 original metal oil caps...something I'm not overly confident exist anymore
