In the upper left by "HOME" go to Forums, let the menu drop down, then to Buy Sell Trade then to right to Parts Wanted.

Does your Rampage have AC? Check the crankshaft pulley. With AC you should have 3 spots for belts. For power steering you'll need the pump, bracket, lines to steering rack and of course the rack & pinion assembly. There are 2 types of steering racks: Saginaw & TRW. Each rack has different lines but use the same pump... The PS rack will bolt onto the K Frame just like the manual.

If your crankshaft pulley only has one spot for the belt (alt/water pump) the of course you'll need a different pulley.

You can source the parts from any L Body...

re: wtb, power steering conversion for 82 L body

I can't remember off hand as it's been thirty years since I did this but you may well need the flex joint that joins the steering column and rack

the one for the power rack MIGHT be different ..
hopefully someone will know

on your crank pulley , check the back side of it for another smaller unused groove
it might just have the pulley you need

though being an early year car it may not..

Just checked the '82 FPM. Yes, different couplings/flex joint for manual & power...

They also have the pumps & hoses but you'll have to absorb the core charge. You could roll the dice and look at eBay.

The issue is the main bracket & the small adjusting bracket...

Re: wtb, power steering conversion for 82 L body

and the bolts
and the nut(S) ,..

a complete pump with brackets , hardware , lines and even the belt would be nice all pulled from one car

still not sure but you may also need the clamp brackets for the power rack to attach to the crossmember
(thinking I remember at least one was different ???)
along with the swivel joint

then you even have CORRECT lines to take to the store to match with new ones
that saves a few ,..trips ..sometimes

Re: wtb, power steering conversion for 82 L body

Too bad you are in CA. I have the power steering stuff from an 84 Rampage and all in good condition when pulled. I actually did the reverse swap as I wanted manual steering with my 2.4l Swap.

Once you have everything swapped out, don't throw the parts away as there are always people looking for a good manual rack and couplers from the column to the rack.

If you end up getting a rack and what not though, I do have the couplers that I would be willing to let go for next to nothing.
