K-car Bench seat with center console?

Hi folks,

Anyone able to tell me is the the k-car's (86-89) could of came with a bench seat and a center console?

I am considering buying a k-car with a bench that is in perfect condition, BUT I need to use a center console to accept my 5-speed conversion (nicely). I have no way to check this out at the moment, and this honestly may be a deal breaker for me...

I scored a 655 head from an 81 K that had a bench & '4-on-the-floor' bit I don't recall any 'console' maybe a tiny one ..

Re: K-car Bench seat with center console?

I could see that car having a specially bent shifter so that it could mount on the floor and bend back over the front edge of the seat .. maybe

just like dodge darts and any other older car would have had with a bench seat

given a late model K car , you would probably find it would have two sepperate 40% sized seats , low backs maybe like a bench
I doubt very much thsat there would be a bent 520 shifter to clear a solid bench though

Was pursuing the for sale section and ran across this:

https://www.turbododge.com/forums/f7/...sole-dual.html

Don't know if it's helpful or not, but the guy selling it might be able to answer your question.

The car in question is a Plymouth Caravelle with a bench, Automatic. If I bought it I would have to find a way to get a console in it to accept an 89-555 shifter.

My long ago 86 Aries Coupe had a vinyl bench and the long bent truck style shiter on the floor with just a boot to the floor. After finding some pitures it looks like a console would not fit with a bench, so if I dop buy this car I will have to find two red front seats (yah!). I already have a k-car console.

thanks dudes
