That's actually a pretty common method of resizing odd and irregular surfaces. Except they use a precision ground block of granite or cast iron deck. Check out some of Keith Fenner's videos. Im totally getting a mill and lathe as soon as the budget allows.

I know this is a methid many have used to re & re their intake and exhaust manifold flanges. Also a good way to fix a deformed/warped turbo flange.

im not saying i wouldnt do this, as i usually find the cheapest way possible to get things done on the daytona..

but float glass flatness is not a reliable flat surface and nowhere near as flat as typical machining granite surface or typical fly cut surface. plus doing it this way grinds in the metal shavings and abrasives...this is definitely an emergency/ultra-ultra cheap a&& way of gettin er done

but when i do try this i will be posting a video

You know what's really sad about that video? I work in a town(note I DO NOT live here), where most folks wouldn't see anything wrong with doing that...

Got a good friend that tells a story about the guy that owns a shade tree garage in his family property. Story goes that he drags cylinder heads by chain down, around, and back up the concrete driveway to the shop, calls it machining and charges $50 for the in-house service.
