I know I've spoken to a few of you on here, but hi to all the other Virginia TD folks. I figured we needed some correspondence between the central VA TD community, so here it is. Questions, ideas, help needed, whatever, we can post here and try to help each other out. Or just talk about our TDs and such. I'll start by posting some info on stuff in the area.

Pull and Pay Junkyards:
Chesterfield Auto Parts (CAP) in Midlothian, Circle Auto Recycling (CAR) in Petersburg

Machine Shops:
Ballos Precision Machinery in Richmond, Crown machine on Rt. 360 in Aylett as suggested by Goose machine shop thread

I just bought a Spirit today and the distributor cover on it is great. I don't use them so it'll come off and go in the pile for you.

The 4-piece valve cover gasket for your car is crap. Toss the cork pieces and just use the rubber ends, then RTV the long sections. It is possible to modify your valve cover to accept the 1 piece gasket. There's a write-up on it on here somewhere. I don't have any special connections for either gasket. I just order them from the parts store or Rock Auto.

I'm pretty sure we have gray carpet surrounds, but not black. Most of the interior parts we have are gray. But, I'll keep a look out for you.

Send Robert a picture of the emblem you need. I might have it and I might not. My collection of emblems is not as extensive as his.

I have a bunch of Pentastars, some big, some small. I'd need the size since I just have grabbed nice looking emblems for years. When I got the Aries it had all the embleems missing and I had a complete set in great shape from years ago in that box. I have a complete set of Rampage emblems that were painted red and the CS emblems but I don't think I want to part with them just now.

Anyone post pics of the cars at Carlisle? Id like to see some, my slack ass hasn't been since 2010! I do have bragging rights of 1st place that year though! Hopefully i'll be able to return next year with the Daytona, but progress has been slow as expected. I am having a big setback with the 16" Pumper wheels that I had powder coated at Hanover Powder Coating in Ashland. After taking a road trip with them and cleaning them up when I got back I started noticing some really bad dark water spots....long story short.....these guys forgot to put a clear coat on the wheels and tried to cover up the mistake at my cost. After some conversation.....they will be taking care of everything and redoing the wheels, remounting tires ect....... Ill let you all know how the turn out after round 2.

More and more you're making me glad I never dealt with those guys. That's a shame. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. Good luck getting it sorted.

I took a couple of photos, but I spent most of my time down in the sales booth. Chris got a few too. I'll try to get them posted for you. I did not take my Daytona. I thought about it but I ran out of time to get all the things done to it I needed to do. Maybe next year. There was a good turn out of Daytonas though.

Couple of things. 1) Chris H. (who I shall henceforth call Wookie) and I bought Bobby's twin turbo V6 Daytona (aka Knightmoves). It needs a few things to be finished, so it'll end up sitting until next year probably. 2) We have a huge stash of Daytona parts and just got done stripping another '88 Shelby. If you need anything, just ask. 3) Who all is going to Mopar Madness in 2+ weeks? I'm planning on taking the Daytona. Wookie will probably bring his. You coming Joe? Chris? Steve?

Yes I realy want to go. have to get a couple of new shoes for Daytona though. Thanks for saving Knightmoves!!!!!Hate to see it parted out!
Have you guys seen daytona for sale on craigslist. The white one. Who is that and wonder if its still up fpr grabsor worth getting.

Joe, I tried texting you earlier and the person responded saying wrong number. PM me your number again please.

The white '89 Daytona on Craigslist is my old ES project car. I converted it to turbo about 12 years ago. The engine ran fine, but the trans dropped second gear (non-turbo a413). I sold it to a guy I knew passively through my dad. He swapped the trans and drove it to work for a few years. He also bought a couple of engine blocks from me and was building one as a monster race engine. The car was completely rust free at that time. Looks like it's been sitting a while. I might have the key for it somewhere still, since the guy apparently lost it.

Well I did it fellas. I purchased another Daytona.
1986 Daytona Z
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Coupé Dodge charger daytona

This car was a stick but was fully converted to an auto car.It has the console and everything under hood looks as though it was factory installed. The undercarriage looks good. No rust at break cable. It has what appears to be a fully functional digital dash, 12 button nav. T-Tops with key and covers. Manuel air pump bolsters .It has a dent in front fender. Looks as though it could be popped out. But I do have a spare on my parts car!

Apparently a man by the name of Allen Kiethley owned this car and he was a Turbo Doge guy. I think its the Allen that lives or lived in Newport News and used to go to the Shelby Dodge club meetings off Ferrel Parkway at Jims ? Found some cool stuff in glove box.

Cool. It seems to be a little low on power off the line. Checked with timing light and all was good. Going to check cam timing tomorrow.Plus see if I can find AC leak and fix. It has a dent in fender but the 88 I have with four head light front clip has a good fender for it. Interior is to ok shape but I think spare tie well need some fixing.Guy that sold it to me said it was a 5 speed but was swapped to an auto because the lady that owned it before could not drive a stick. Now since you and Allen seem to be the last people to own I wonder who he thinks he is calling a lady!!!!! LOL

Who all is going to the Mopar Madness show? Im planning on coming with the Daytona....still got a lil work to do on it , hope I can find the time in the next few days. I work nights and will likely be getting off of work as late as 11am so ill get there when I can.....maybe save me a spot....but i'll let you all know if i'll make it for sure by Friday night.

is there a burnout contest? Maybe I should bring out my 1990 Dodge Shadow n/a with 357,000 miles and attempt to kill it since it never wants to die.........

I'll be there in my Daytona. Wookie will be there in his Daytona. Joe might be coming in the '86 he just picked up. Robert is working, but maybe his buddy Tyler will bring one of the cars out. I haven't talked to Johnny to see if he's coming this year. Looks like Steve has to repair his boat trailer after losing a wheel hub, so he's out.

I'm meeting Wookie at the Hardees on Boulevard at 7:45, if anyone wants to caravan down with us. (note: actual Caravan not required, but encouraged!)
