Re: PT GT wheels (17") on a base model Spirit

a 215/45-17 would be 0.8% 'shorter' than your 195/70-14;
a 205/50-17 would be 1.6% 'taller' than your 195/70-14;

- both practically negligible..
{in fact most factory speedometers indicate a couple % high, so a slightly taller tire puts 'indicated speed' about right..}

play with various size options here:
https://tiresize.com/calculator/

from tirerack.com
215/45-17 cheapest tires are $76, $81, ..
205/70-17 cheapest tires are $78, $80, ..

215/45r17 tire would be about the same height and 10mm wider then the stock 15 inch tire on a spirit R/T

Re: PT GT wheels (17") on a base model Spirit

your trans won't mind at all a different size tire..

the center hub hole size *should* be OK (large enough)
but you might want to check one before mounting up all 4 !

should be fine. providing your tire choices dont rub.. bolt them up and turn the wheel lock to look. check for rubbing.

PT GT wheels (17") on a base model Spirit

I have a good lead on some mint PT GT 5 spoke wheels (painted, not chrome) and was wondering if I'd encounter any fitment issues putting them on a base model spirit that has 195/70/14 alum rims?

I realize I'd need to adjust for tire size, but other than that, any concerns....and if I wanted to adjust to a taller tire size to fill my wheel wells a little, the only issue would be speedo reading, correct? I wouldn't be doing any transmission damages by running a larger circumference tire would I ?
