Re: TII air box

This is how I had it setup on my old CSX-T.

The factory Mitsu pipe is long gone, it's welded to a 2.25" pipe. Whoever welded on the valve I got used a short piece of pipe so I can't replicate this even if I wanted to without grinding the flange off and re-welding.

neverdone Thanks Todd. On my old cars I used to put them on the upper hose. My old CSX-T I cut the built-in hose off the air box and the metal pipe with the bov laid perfect in that void, looked like it could have came that way. I also ran the little k&n filter, thanks for the part number.

If the lower hose is a good choice then I'll consider putting it there as it will keep it looking oem.

Anyone have an extra lower hose? 😁

Re: TII air box

If I'm putting 2 and 2 together, I would put the BOV you bought in the lower intercooler hose and leave the upper hose and airbox alone. The factory 1st gen DSM BOV's came with an angled metal tube that was bead rolled. Just trim the metal bracket off of it. Just splice it into your lower hose. Works great, and no one sees it. They only hear it (lol). I also run a filter (K&N RC2540) on the outlet, as it can open during high vacuum conditions too.

neverdone Doesn't really matter as I'm using it for a modification project. The style that's currently on the car is the 87-88 style. Car is a CSX-T.

Re: TII air box

^ What Marty said, there are two different styles at least. Difference being one style has an large oval opening going from the air box to smec, other style is circular.
