Re: 88 Daytona ghetto fix - is this safe? (pics)

Jb weld doesn't like impacts. Chipping at it with maybe a small chisel or similar and it may just come right off.

Re: Srt/2.4 swap in l-body

I'd recommend TU, they sell new ford (standard) t3 housings. They really help support and advance our cars.

Re: Srt/2.4 swap in l-body

You might be able to drill the turbine housing inlet flange to normal t3 spec. Lay a template of the t3 bolt pattern on and see where you're at, might require some work on the flange's backside so...

Re: Help with a stock 89 Lancer Shelby - boost

Code 45 is OBSD, will it come back if you clear the codes?

Has the o2 sensor been replaced recently IE easy to remove? You could (as a test) pull the o2 and see if that allows more boost.

Re: Replacement of turbo Garrett (TII)

1988 2.2 turbo 1 came with the te04h you will not damage anything. With vacuum hose connected as shown in post #6 you should have about 5-7 psi of boost and actuator is working.
The smoke from...

I use a hosting site for pics. Usually imgur. And just use the bbcode to show a pic. Just my preference.

Re: Turbo removal ideas

Pulling the head off is usually step 1. Are you trying to do this with the head on? That would be a huge PITA, waste a lot of time and cause unnecessary frustration.

Re: Turbo whipple

I hope I'm not offending by mentioning something so trivial; is the blow off valve's vacuum and boost source actually providing both? No check valves or other nonsense in it's signal line?

The...

Re: Need some help with turbo stuff

For a 91 318 I'd think a low boost single setup would be an effective and fun build. Maybe even remote mount it. There's got to be an appropriately sized Holset for this... Searching...

Re: 1986 Daytona Turbo Z need advise please

You can patch it with hose, just dont go crazy. If you need more than about 1' of hose in a given area just replace the hard line. You can buy steel line online or at many parts stores, just cut,...

It's all in the posted links. If looking at the cap overhead, #1 is at the top left.

Re: FS: VNT G25 Turbo, Fuel Pump, misc

What? :p

Some experimenting with an external gate could probably get boost control under control. Still, the vnt isn't quite the ideal size on the compressor

Yes, around the top of the lifter bores. I was refreshing myself on this build, re-read all of it, saw that pic and freaked out. I'm glad I was mistaken. :thumb:

Re: 1990 Dodge Dakota Turbo Build

Glad you had a safe trip! Unfortunate it's burning oil. If charge piping has oil in it, it's likely that turbo's 4 piece compressor seal.

Unrelated question. Post 14 on page 1... Those cracks...

Or run the distributor off of one of the cams on the rear of...

They have strikingly similar paint schemes. I used to have a matching Daytona and Shadow, both white/primer/surface rust lol. Enjoy the new ride, looking forward to updates :)

Re: Another timing question.

Double check all of your timing marks. You want the slot in the top of the oil pump gear to be parallel with the block. Installing the distributor at tdc should have the rotor pointing at #1 on the...
