Re: 1990 Dodge Dakota Turbo Build

Looks good! Plan on running it on E85? I'm running my PT GT and SRT-4 on corn, night and day difference.

Re: Any one have these measurements?

I do know a few people that can program the TCM for whatever VIN, and since the 41TE from the PT Cruiser uses Autostick, I'm sure there's a way. But like you say, without a good scheduler it'll...

Re: Any one have these measurements?

Yeah.. But you have to take into account.
A. It was a prototype 3.3, not production.
B. The turbo was one off of a 2.2, not sized appropriately.
C. Turbo tuning in 1989 was awful.

Like I...

Re: Any one have these measurements?

I'm going off the word of Prodigy Performance who push their turbo 3.8 builds to about 450whp - They say around there the pistons like to grenade. The 3.3/3.8 bottom end should be find as far as I...

Re: Any one have these measurements?

Trying to find a cheap semi-bolt combo of parts to drop into a 3.3 or 3.8 Chrysler. Custom parts would be near $1500-2000 - Nothing worth spending on a minivan engine.

The stock engine has shown...

Question Any one have these measurements?

Trying to figure out what would be a good combo for some stronger internals for the 3.3/3.8 setups. Does any one have the following measurements for pre-2001 3.3/3.8 engines?

Piston to Valve...

Re: PT Cruiser - 3.8 V6 Swap

It can be done. Axles might be fine stock, you have plenty of other FWD Chryslers to choose from though.

Re: 1991 Dodge Grand Caravan 5 speed swap. Help please!

Detobias is correct. You'll need a Stratus R/T or Sebring GTC 2.7L 5-speed T-850.

The 3.0 has more tuning options available but both engines are pretty strong. Reliability wise I'd keep your 3.3 -...

Re: 3.3 Swap Dodge Shadow Plan

Well that sucks... Maybe I can ask TwistedBuilds if his Arduino transmission controller can be used.

Re: 3.3 Swap Dodge Shadow Plan

Yeah, that's true. The solenoid for 1st gear needs to be primed or something. That's where a controller will need to come into play.

Hey tOSdude,

Here is a list of things that I've compiled for the 3.3/3.8 engines.

Re: 2.2/2.5 block vs 2.4 block

I think you'd be better off with a 2.4L. A tune, exhaust, and waste gate will get 270whp easy. Doing that on a 2.2 or 2.5 is a lot more work. Plus you can find 2.4L parts in any junkyard.

Re: Hemi Valve Stem Seals on a 2.2/2.5 Head

I'll see if I can find which kit I got. They were like this:

I used whatever the tan colored ones are. One was too big...

Re: Srt-4 unknown noise

Which side is making the noise? It sounds like a bearing or slipping belt to me. Have you posted this on the SRT-4 Owners group on Facebook?

Re: Daytona 2.5 turbo automatic transmission options?

You'd need something to control it, but a 41TE is technically a bolt on. It's a 4-speed electronic transmission. So you'd need to make a shift controller. It's generally regarded as a weaker trans...

Re: Hemi Valve Stem Seals on a 2.2/2.5 Head

Like everything listed above, I was told multiple times by a bunch of people that I could use HEMI valve stem seals. Then I show them the boss and they go "No, it just goes on." and I argued with...

Arrow What kind of injectors do we use?

I've been Googling all over the place and not finding much about this.

Are the injectors for 96+ 3.3/3.8 high impedance or low impedance injectors?

From what I gather, orange tops are high...

Re: 98 3.8L in 1995 Acclaim

The engine should literally just bolt up. I think it's the same motor mounts at the late 2.5L. The only problem you will have is wiring.

Here's the swap I'm basing mine on.

Re: 2.5 tiii

I know this isn't really in the spirit of these cars, but wouldn't you be better off doing a 2.4 swap? Cheaper and more upgrades. Plus similar or more power. A 2.5 TIII sounds way cooler though.

Re: Microsquirt

Wow. That sounds great! When I timed my Daytona, I noticed it would never sit on 12* exactly. Always 1-1.5 -/+ from that. Bang on!
