My 3.8L in my 94 Voyager ate it this weekend, so now I'm on the search for a new motor. Much digging has found a decent early 90s 3.8L is extremely hard to come by around here, so this has me looking at other options.

I've been thinking about maybe a 3.5L, not sure what that would entail, but I've heard they can run off the old ecm/wiring?

Or

Going really crazy and doing a 3.6L Pentastar/6-speed auto combo.

I would like to do the latter more as I feel it would be a perfect match for the van, while being insanely reliable carting around 1000+lbs less than it was intended for. Issue is HOW much work will it be to do so?

I've also considered doing an 01+ 3.8L.
I've read it's just a matter of swapping the timing parts to the old style and adapting the older TB and it will run on my ecu/wiring.
