5226352 L-body Quad Solenoid Pack Part 5: Resistance Test

I thought you'd want to know how to do a simple test to see if the coils in your solenoid pack are ok.
Most people don't have an LCR meter or an impedance meter w/phase measurement, but a lot of you have or can borrow a volt/ohm meter to check resistance of the coils.
A good coil will show a resistance in ohms close to what I listed below.
A bad coil will be either shorted (0 ohms), open (infinity), or way off the figures I listed below.
I used the black coil as the standard control unit for the resistance test as it's the only coil that is/was never used, & it's completely sealed from the elements. No electrical, mechanical or thermal damage done.
The measurements should be done with the harness disconnected at the bottom of the coils and the connections cleaned.
NOTE: Don't use sandpaper, files or anything abrasive on electrical terminals. That will remove the protective plating and make connections worse.

Black Coil: 31.0 ohms (standard control unit)
White Coil: 30.1 ohms
Green Coil: 29.2 ohms
Blue Coil: 32.2 ohms

If your readings are close to these, then they're good.
