So my 1983 Rampage had a solid amber turn signal, one being broken. I came across another 1983 at a Pick N Pull and found a different style turn signal on it. Before I pulled them, they appeared to fit nicely and be contoured to the front bumper. However, upon putting them in mine, they do not seem to fit at all the same. Does anyone know more about the differences? I'll list them for the cost of shipping once I understand what they should fit.

The broken ones on my truck:

The ones that fit the other '83 rampage, but not mine as you can see:

The backs are identical, but you can see the fronts are not:

what is the lettering on the lenses and on the backside of the lamps?
The back halves are the same, "5207594/95" for right and left respectively. The lenses are "SAE IP 79M" and "SAE IP 79Z". The 79M fits my rampage. The 79Z is the smaller one with black on the lens.

I didn't check the 1983 parts manual, but I know from the 1984 parts manual that the 1984 Dodge Rampage used a front turn signal housing that was different from every other 1984 model.

often ,the year of the car is cast right into the tail lamp lens

^^ that "79M" may indicate those lenses were for a '79

MAYBE

I think I've noted some difference(s) in the early 2 lamp nose along the bumper rub strip so there may well be other little differences to be found

and a 78-9 nose on an 83 might be hard to note if you don't see the fine detail differences

all 84's got the new for '84 four lamp front end except the shelby chargers

M= Horizon
Z= Omni

M,Z= L Body
Yea, I know those from the factory service manual. I was moreso confused by how the others fit another rampage. After some Google-fu, I found where it looks like there are front bumpers with a different lower half. No clue if that was related to a trim option or what.

it's going to be either a model year difference or a dodge plymouth difference as there was that possibility back then too - rampage might differ from scamp (?)

Just went out and looked at the lamps on my '83 Rampage.

They look like the replacements that you got.

I checked the '82 & '83 parts manuals. Lamps (5207568-9) are the same for both years and are indicated for "L Body--28" (Fwd Pickup). Nothing indicates for M nor Z. So should be the same for Rampage or Scamp. These are also the same lamps for the "L Body--24" (2 door).

The parts manuals do not indicate the housing number, only the "Lamp Assy" number as indicated above.

What do you have there Wes !?!?!?!?

I just checked the lights I recently bought for my 84 thats going to 2 lights.

They are from a 1982 Rampage and have the same #'s as yours.

Except mine have 79 MZ on each one, is one pair of yours M and the other Z??.

My experience is the year date on a lens it's the first year it was used.

Mine look like the ones you bought.

My 1982 bumper rebar is steel, I understand some are aluminum??

Could that be the difference?? Is yours Aluminum??

My 4 light rebar was alum but the bar/lights were definitely different from 2 bar

Thanks
Randy
