[2.2noob]

As my name states, I'm a noob. Never had or worked on a fwd car. Just took my new Rampage out to do a shake down. Other than the carb making a whining noise the tach is bugging me. It sits at 6k and jumps slightly when I rev. Can someone point me a the right direction to figuring this out?
Any help is appreciated.

sounds like you may have a defective cluster or tach module
