Guys - I just sold the original 2.2L long block engine from my '87 Shelby Lancer that I bought new and represented it as a TII. Was I correct or not? The buyer is challenging it. Thanks, Steve
The 87 SL is a TII engine. It was modded by Shelby though. The 88 Lancer Shelby is a Beefier TII.
Therefore you can BOTH be correct.
What are you doing with the rest of the car?
Thanks for your response.
As for the car; I had Todd Nelson build a warmed over 2.5L CB and am enjoying driving the car - bigger cubes make it much easier to move the car.
Actually, the SL's were T1 bottom ends with the T2 manifolds and turbo added to the top end. Not to burst you bubble, but the bottom ends had the lightweight rods as well as a cast crank as compared to the T2 engine's heavy-duty rods and forged crank.
Yeah, me too. Unless, of course, it was cheap. The manifolds & turbo are still worth quite a bit. '87 intercooled-isn't that a 2-piece intake? That's worth $150 minimum.
Guys - FYI I sold the 67k miles long block, that ran with a rattle above 2,200rpms sans cam and followers for $100 net and charged only $30 to deliver it from Iowa to Pittsburg, PA. Steve
