Someone asked for help on switching the 92 sbecII to a 91 sbec and vice versa. I heard it is possible so lets figure it out.
here is the sbecII T1 2.5 ecu

OK with all these pin-out I can tell aready this is going to be a LONG thread.

I have 2 1991 FSMs. There is 1991 Wiring Diagrams and 1991 Wiring Diagrams Supplement. Each has its own pin-outs and theyare slightly different. I put in RED the diference between the 2.

This is the 1991 FSM Wiring Diagrams SUPPLEMENT Version(i used it cause i figured they put out a supplement for a reason, best to use the newest edition)

OK so it seems to me that according to the FSM(supplement) that you would have to........
Remove pins: (from the 91 Harness)
26 Serial Buss+
46 Serial Buss-
48 Speed Control Switch "SET"
49 Speed Control Feed
50 Speed Control "RESUME"
54 Turbo Solenoid(although the wire colors are the same so this could be interchangeable)(Part throttle unlock for 92, maybe for Automotics only aswell)
56 Turbo Solenoid
*Since the serial bus wires are no used in 92 its obvious that BCM and SBEC communitcate through the SCI(SBEC) transmit and recieve wires.
*Also there is no hopw for ever having cuise with this set up as Chrysler switched to a one wire three step voltage system in 92. BUT WHO NEEDS CRUISE ANYWAYS

And switch pins:
8 Fuel Pump for 57 A142 Circut Voltage Sense
*this is asuming what its sensing is a +12V signal from the ASD Relay. Atleast thats how I am seeing it.

Well thats what I got from this and look forward to everyone elses opinion, it looks to me that I am going to be able to use a 91 harness after all. THANK GOD!!!!

Again thanks to crazymadbastard for the 92 scans. THAT HELPED OUT HUGE

Okay, so I have a 91 SBEC in our 92 Shadow SBEC-II car. The only thing I know that doesnt work is the cruise.

Should there be anything else that doesnt work?
did you move or remove any any of the pins ?

Nope, plugged it in and fired right up. This was last year, weve been driving the car ever since.

Now, it does start kinda slow, especially cold. It seems to have to crank for a few seconds before it fires up. And when it does fire up, it sputters a little at first. Almost as if it takes it a few seconds to build up fuel pressure or something?

And then there was the problem of it staying running after turning the key off. It hasnt done that it quite a while though.

But never any problems really other than that. Drove to WV and back without a single problem.

It was a Holy pinouts Batman EEK.

My Duster used to do that keep running after shutting the key off thing. It was because the dingleberry previous owner, rather than fixing the radiator fan circuit, just found +12v somewhere under the hood. It was that useless 2-pin plug near the injector harness. So, I found the 30-amp Maxi blade fuse under the dash, replaced it, wired the fan properly, problem solved. I know this has absolutely nothing to do with bhazard's issue, I'm just venting.

Yeah I to have had a 92 Shadow running on a 91 SBEC without changing any pinouts. On P-Bodies there are no CCD or Serial BUSS wires at all, the pins are left empty, those are specific only to G,J, and AA bodies. So there isnt that lack of communication issue to deal with I guess. Other than that unless crazymadbastard checks his 92FSM for p-bodies and says the pins for 8 and 57 are different than J,G bodies, they "technically" should still have to be changed.

So in other word it doesnt make much sence but it certainly does work..........

The car itself does not utilize CCD bus. But the engine computer still has the pinouts for it. There's no need for CCD in a P-body because there aren't any other modules that need to talk to each other. Except in the case of a V-6/41TE transmission.
