I have a 91 Lebaron GTC. When i start to build boost my a/c redirects to the windshield. I know that this is a boost/vacuum problem, but i just wanted to know if anyone has had this problem or could help me pinpoint it.
on the black vacume line running from the brake booster into the car there should be a check valve in the line
it will either be right at the booster where you can see it or it's gonna be inside
if inside it should be at the end of the heat a/c box right above the gas peddel
possable you steped on the line and unpluged it ?? or it just ain't working now
All i see is some sort of big silver valve(?) with a yellow vacuum line plugged into it and another one with an orange vacuum line in it...but both are plugged in.
ok , check which line comes in from the booster - follow it the check valve might be up over the top edge of the heater box
the other line going through the firewall should go to a water shut off valve on the heater hoses - though I've heard somthing about the newer cars not haveing that
It's called the heater actuator. It basically just keeps the doors of the a/c open even during boost. It's leaking. And pushing air to the windshield is like a safety feature so that when that actuator goes bad you can still defrost your windshield and whatnot.
A guy named Sid pm'd me about it so the credit goes to him. I can post the part number links that he gave me if needed.
