I used the Standard Transmission shift kit for my transmission. It is almost complete except for the small spring to be added to the governor valve. To do this must I remove the governor assembly from the transmission or is there some way I can do it from inside the transmission, without removing the transfer shaft gear etc.? I just don't know if it is worth the extra work and I don't have the special tools to remove the gear and certainly do not have a 200 ft. lb. torque wrench, although, I could probably do it anyway. I do remember when cleaning the inside of the case that the governor valve moved freely, so it is not stuck.
