I have a 2001 touring edition, manual tranny, with 49k miles. Starting today I have had the air bag light on the instrument panel stay on continiously and I get a chime after I start the engine. Doing the the 3 times on and off with the key in the ignition routine I get no error codes. I have not neen in an accident nor has the car been bumped. I also have the optional side impact bags in the front seats. Any ideas on what is wrong? I have a made an appointment with a Chrysler dealer's service department next week since I have some routine maintence to be done. Anyone else have this happen to them?

The airbag codes will need a scanner to access them.
The key dance test only retrieves emissions related engine codes. There are literally hundreds of codes for the 9 other computers on the PT, along with non emissions engine codes, that need a scanner to access.
