when i converted my 93 daytona 3.0 to manual i kept the stock auto computer, but a local junkyard has a 1993 shadow 3.0 manual ecm
is there anything different between the two, idle? ignition timing? etc...
not sure why you would say the car runs better. It shouldnt run better unless the auto ecu is doing something funny.
i think something might be different with overrun fuel cut (5spd ecu should cut fuel when your off the throttle and above a certain rpm (not idle rpm) if i had to guess, an auto ecu would not do this.
you will bump your rev limiter from 5800rpm to 6200rpm. the only way i can see that this would help you is that you might be going down the quarter mile and have to shift to 4th gear right before the end.. the manual ecu might let you stay in third to clear the 1/4. some people find they go faster staying in third than shifting to 4th even though power is dropping off.
