Better sounding BOV

I have this on my 91 Daytona and I can tell you it is as it says----- Really F****** Loud! It sounds like Semi Air brakes. Even at 5psi I get a sound. AT20 PSI when you shift IT REALLY is loud. Do you have an automatic?

noise is restriction of air. you want it to be quiet.

Yeah but that's not fun! It really doesn't matter with a blow off valve unless you pumping the gas pedal!

Autos dont have near as loud of a BOV sound as compared to sticks.

Yea but I'm stuck with what I've got. As you know I've sunk too much money into it to ever get it back out again!

HKS SSQ is loud and crisp. My Type H is awesome but the SSQ that was on my talon had the best sound.

go with a greddy type R as i had one on my BMW 3 series turbo and it sounded loud as hell, i could hear it with a semi on the side of me and my exhaust at WOT and it was still loud

I'll have to agree with KillerR/T. I've had a knock off HKS SSQ and a real one, and loved the sound of both! I have an older Turbo XS on my CSX and it not very loud at all. It's the one with like four holes around it, which may be why it's not as loud.

The one with four holes is either a type h or type s..

As I said it's exactly same as yours. An automatic doesn't blow off because you never let off it when shifting. A stick won't either just by letting off the throttle under normal driving.

If you think your turboXS RFL is quiet, then the HKS and greddy will be VERY quiet in comparison. The RFL is one of the loudest out their. You should hear it blow off. If not, it isn't something that a different BOV will solve. How many washers do you have in their? how much boost do you run?

0 washers, 15 psi boost

my knock off rfl is pretty loud.

Im defiantly impressed by my rfl..... So are the people walking alongside the road! :thumb:

Plus one on the HKS. I have the HKS SSQV3 Black Edition. I wouldn't change it for anything.

i love my seppddod prof bov its pretty loud sounds good

I agree buddy has a tt awd 3000gt and has a HKS SSQVBOV THAT IS ONE AMAZING SOUND! I have the rfl on mine and it's decent, but ? What about washers???

x2. agreed. i had one on my auto 88 daytona t1. had a ******* pull up to me in a dually because he heard the bov go off....he asked if i had "jake" breaks
