boost won't go over 7psi...

Ok, i am an idiot, and can not figure how to hook up my wastegate selenoid properly. Someone on here must have a diagram of how to hook it up. I looked at the vacume diagram for the car (91 daytona 2.5T1), but becuase i'm using a vacume block, my vac lines are totally different.

I am just running a line from wastegate selenoid to a "T"... one end goes to turbo nipple, other goes to wastegate. This is only getting me 7psi max!

Any help?

vacume block to a .020-.030 orifice, then to a Tee fitting. Run one side of the Tee to the soleniod. And the other side goes to the wastegate actuator. My guess is that you don't have the restrictor. Or you have your solenoid/wastegate plumbed wrong. If you don't have the orifice installed, you won't restrict flow enough to bleed off the pressure to the actuator. That's what the solenoid does.

However, if you do it this way, you'll be back to running stock boost levels.

Wink
youll only get about that unless you let the computer control it via hooling a line from the wastegate solenoid or running a boost controller
thanks wink.
Only prob, i dont even know what an orifice is?!?! I see it on the vac diagram, but because i esencially threw away my WHOLE old vac lines, and started from scratch i dont have anything. Where can i get this part from?
THANK YOU!!!!

Also, an orifice is a hole. I think he is talking about the restrictor that is in the line to the WG which has a very small hole (orifice) in it. I run a .20 mig welder tip in my line. You could also go to the junk yard and pull the restrictor out of a TD.

Anyway, I would just cut out the middle man and run a Manual Boost Controler (MBC). Just run a line off of the block, and put your MBC, also known as a grainger valve inbetween the block and the WG. Makes for a much easier time of controling boost, and they are cheap to make yourself, or buy pre-made from one of the vendors.

I would check out Garry's site www.thedodgegarage.com for all the boost control information you could shake a stick at.

Sorry if it seems like I am talking down to you, but I just was not sure how hip you were to this, and wanted to cover all the bases in one post :)

Auto Zone sells them. Or you can use welding tips. Usually .020-.035 are acceptable sizes. Basically they look like your typical plastic barbed hose unions. But it will have a brass/copper "orifice" or restriction within the unit. I find them in the "HELP!" section of my local parts vender.

Cordes, i have a MBC right now, i just want to go back to computer controlled boost until i get my CAL. The MBC seems much easier to hook up ;-) I've just been using the MBC for so long, that i totally forgot how the stock setup worked.
Thanks for all the help guys,
