87 CSX after I installed the engine when hooking up i noticed that i broke thesending unit that is looks to be in the middle of intake manifold next to head. What does it do also will it let it fire up and run ?

My son just showed up it's the knock sensor. Can i fire up and break in engine or shoud i wait till i get one tomorrow

Shouldn't hurt to run it as long as you don't WOT .Take it easy.

+1. They are cheap though, I have a box of them that you can have for FREE. If you don't mind making the trip to Nova Scotia to pick 'em up, or pay postage. You should be able to find one for nothing (or next to) locally though.

Thanks . found one at friends house . But it just got worse , New head, cometic gasket [ with hylamar ] , and studs = LOTS of steam out the rear .

About the steam, did you put teflon tape ot thread sealant on the lower exhaust studs?
