Does anyone know where the build sheet is in a 92 daytona

Underneath the back seat are a real popular spot on them. Also check under front seats and under the glove compartment and/or steering wheel. Often you can find them under carpets as well. I've torn my car apart in search of the thing. The only place I have yet to check is under the carpets beneath the seats.

its not underneath the backseats or in the dash anywhere as i have had both out for work, has to be under the carpets as they are not under the front seats either, but i didnt think they put them in cars anymore

ya your right - don't count on finding the sheet - they are rare compared to the older mopars

I have found the ones for the 2 Spirit ES's I had under the carpet passenger side floor board. One was mint and the other was stuck to the carpet backing. In the junk yard I found a build sheet for a 84 Chrysler Laser under the sparetire.

I'm going to tear my Lebaron GTS apart to see if I can find one for it.

When I bought my 2005 SRT-4 and my 2011 Chrysler 200 I got a mini build sheet with those cars.

no surprise - outta 20 + cars I've ripped everything out of I only ever found 1 TD build sheet

maybe by the 80's they discovered they make more money selling the paper to be recycled

I guess I was lucky...when I got my car, the build sheet was with the owners manual. Guess the previous owner found it, no idea where though. It was a little ripped on the edge otherwise 98% intact.

my first blue 86 Z had 1 but none of my other cars did - or the ones I scraped

to bad , I woulda liked to see the codes for my second blue Z as it rode much heaver than the first one and the only diff was the second one had power mirrors and a rear wiper - my first one did not and felt much lighter for some reason

I've heard many people who've found them under the back seats. But yeah theyre a pretty rare find on these cars

I didn't find one in either of my 85 SC's
I did find one in my 86 SC under the rear driver side carpet

For my 1991 Daytona, half of the build sheet was under the carpet in the trunk. The rest was never found. Here is a MS Paint remastered scan of my buildsheet:

I went to a local Chrysler dealer and gave them the vin# for my turbo mini, and they printed me off a "build sheet" not the original obviously, but served the same purpose. And it also told me all recall work done, along with listing every option with all codes, and the standard equipment.

Ya you will only find them in about 25% of these cars and if your car is from the North count on it being destroyed......


The best thing to do is give your local dealer your cars VIN and tell them you want them to run a VIP and Option report for your car. That will tell you everything about it from options and the date and time it was made to its in-service date...

Yes, the dealer can print out a build sheet as well. You can also e-mail Chrysler/Dodge and they can supply you with one as well.

The one thing you have to remember about the "new" print out of codes from Chrysler is that they recycle the three letter codes. There may be some erroneous entries. I think the slave CD option code was later replaced with a description of "6 CD Changer" giving the false impression that slave CD equipped cars had a "6 CD Changer."

To correct this error, instead of using a new code reference book, you have to use an old listing, one found on the back of a build sheet.
