Which it doesn't. It uses a Getrag DMT-6. BUt Hyundai did do most of the development work on the shortblock portion of the World Engines. And seeing some of their products lately and how much improvement they've made that's far from a bad thing.
i never thought i'd say this about any korean manufacturer, but they do make damn good cars now. certainly not knocking ma' mopar, but my 04 tiburon is a million times the car that my 04 neon r/t ever could have been (but my daytona owns all :) )

Are you sure it will use the Getrag DMT-6? I talked to someone at DC, and I was told Aisin BG-6?

You think that the Getrg DMT-6 is a better tranny than the NVT350HD from the PT Cruisers? Would it fit in my 2nd gen neon.

Wasn't the PT Turbos' tranny a Getrag?

Am I just talking out my ass? Probably, lol.

"Each of the three companies (Hyundai/DCX/Mitsu) was supposed to design their own cylinder head/top end including cam actuation/VVT although they still share quite a bit of parts."

Above statement is true. DCX did the top end of the SRT-4. Exhaust manifold too. Getrag seems to be the truth on the tranny too. There are a few buzzing around here at CHRYSLER. (Note the lack of Diamler already). And YES, the Challengers are around too. I saw one with the '71 R/T Hood, albeit was camo'd with leather "bras". Now, this new Chery car would be funky to see with a SRT-4 motor in it. If it is the one parked on the back lot, that thing has to be the size of a Yugo but it looks like an Easter Egg with a tiny grille. It only takes up 2/3 a parking place. It looks disposable. : ) It would haul @ss with any decent HP.

It is probally disposable.Look at the test crash ratings, one of the worst cars ever.Chrysler needs to end their `marriage` with these very quick. There already getting lots of negative media coverage about these cars.

I saw a quick "teaser" news clip that showed an offset crash test that totally destroyed a car. Was it a Chery? Some other Chineese brand? I mean it went all the way into the cockpit and even tore up the driver's door. Wished I knew more about it.

it was the chery but the worst thing is they mentioned chrysler in the video.Right when chrysler is getting their act together this chery line can do a lot of negative publicity very fast.

Pics.

I didn't have time to go over every page in this thread, but I have some pics of the SRT that Dodge had at Mopars at the Track in Memphis a few weeks ago.

Enjoy.

mmmmmmkay..................I guess I have to take back everything I said about it being ugly. Now all that's left to do is prove to me that there aren't any reliability issues and I am gonna have to make a down payment on an '09 or '10......'10? That sounds, ummmmm, werid.
