CD player question

803 Views 10 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  moparguy89
Would the slave cd player fit into any Daytona or are some year specific? And would it work with any of the radios or just infinity? I have an 88 Daytona with the Infinity radio.
One more question, is there special mounting hardware to install it?

it should fit a 88, there usually is a space for them, the 90+ have a space, i think the 88 it goes were the cup holder is
84 through 89 would go where the cup holder is... with the proper setup.. and 91 - 93 go in the bottom most hole in your dash setup... 90 Daytonas do not have a spot for a slave CD add in
I have an Infinity AM/FM Cassette now, if I were to add the slave CD does it just plug into the back of the radio? What do you press for it to play the CD?
The cd player itself has its own controls: play, pause, forward, etc.
also to put the cd player in a 89 or older you need a special bracket which replaces the cup holder bracket.

I have found out 90+ slave cd players seem to be slightly wider and don't fit in the pre 89 bracket( I am figuring out how to get around this)
is all I would need to do is plug it into the back of the radio to make it work?
Your radio needs to have the special plug in the back of it as well, and you need the special cord to go from the cd player to the radio
Is there a way to check without pulling the radio? Or can you tell me where the plug should be?

I am not sure which radios came with it or not, but it does have to be an infinity radio. The plug looks like this:

I installed a separate CD player in my minivan. You just plug it into the back of your radio and push the CD in. When you push the CD in the radio automatically switches over to the CD player. When you press the eject button on the CD player it goes back to the radio.

Good Luck,
