Just wondering if anyone can tell me if a cylinder head from a 1985 Daytona 2.5 would fit on a 92 Daytona 2.5

You possibly mean a 1986 2.5 as it's the first year for 2.5.

From 1986 onwards all 8V 2.2/2.5 cyl heads are functionally the same.

A 1985 head is considered a G head where the 1986 on were called Swirl.

Some 86+ heads are Cross Drilled and stamped CD on the end over the trans.

Some 86+are stamped TS for Tapered Shroud. (mostly Turbo)

TS and CD are not casting differences but minor machining differences.

Many replace TD/CD with non TD/CS and the reverse.

The casting year is cast in a small circle near the #1 spark plug.

EG: 85 =1985 92 = 1992 ETC.

Casting #s are cast vertically. The last 3 numbers are the ID EG: 782

Even a 1985 head will work with some understandings.

Verify what you have and report back.

Thanks
Randy

You don't need any numbers it's obviously some form of G head.

You could run it but will lose some power and economy unless its an 81/82.

The G head will have about 1/2 point less compression on a 2.5

Nice head for a high boost Turbo Engine, that's what I run.

Coincidently, Chipman is about an hour from me.

Thanks
