I think you win!!
WOW!!! My condolences... Massive destruction
Looks like shes been running a little too rich a little too long! Ouch!
So what are the specs? 2.2 or 2.5? Looks like a 2.2 to me, and pre-common block as well. Are those LW rods?

Cracks between the valves - eh... look normal. :)
Ouchie momma!

Bet that made a mean sound when it went.

Some JB Weld should fix it right up :welloh:

I got a 2.5 NA Duster . That had a blown engine, It has a hole just like that in the same place. I swear the chunk is the same exact chunk thats missing . I should tear it all apart and take pictures.
dont know whether to clap or cry...lol....either way, thats some impressive damage...
wow....that reminds me of this engine we had in my diesel mechanics shop (votech school). It was a large inline 6 mack engine...the driver was going down this huge hill coming home from the Poconos. Now mind you, diesel engines have a much lower RPM range..and this one toped out at around 3,000 RPM. Well, he got the truck up to about 90 MPH, maybe more, with the truck in neutral... and slid it back into direct and dropped the clutch...spun the engine up to about 7,000 RPM and threw one of the pistons and rods threw the side of the block....

Has anyone ever seen such massive damage to a TD engine like this??? Why would the bottom half of the engine and turbo go at the same time like that??...and at such low rpms??
Yah.. looks to be a 2.2. But MAN! that engine was done....well the rings were for sure looks like there was ALOT of blowby
It's a 2.2. On the way to a friends house I got on it heard a clank and didn't think nothing of it(mabye a 15 mil socket.....lol). Got with in block of the house, hit 5 pounds, turbo made a BAD high pitch sound, and at vac made no sound at all. 1 block from the house at 2,500 RPM or so, it just let go! I've only had the car for, 3-4 months:D

It had a little bit of rod knock a few weeks after I bought it so I knew it was going to go. I just wish the turbo didn't got down with it:(.

I've got one better. I'll get pics of my buddy Dave's neon motor. His block was ventilated in 3 places, and his pistons wouldn't even be classified as ashtrays at this point.

I'll find some pics and post them up.

Your carnage is still impressive though. The most enjoyable part of breaking stuff is showing it off. ;)
Thats insane! Last time I saw that carnage was from a riding lawn mower! Dang govenors and setting them high so I can cut a field! It was free.

Lovely!! What happened man? Did some of our guys put a 50. cal round thru your block?? Did you disregard our "Vehicle checkpoint" signs??? Mess with the Bull...get the horns!!
Man, that's remeniscent of the 292 Chevy we ventilated at the old Suffolk Va. dragstrip around 1972 or 3. It came within 1/2" of cutting the block in half, and that was with aluminum rods.
Nice carnage. :thumb:
Get the silicone and duct tape, maybe a little bondo for the hole and she'll be good as new. Just needs a slight freshening. Maybe new plugs.
