I have a '89 Daytona T2

In my car, the Mopar Part Number for my MAP is 5227152.

I have NOS MOPAR MAP Sensors in the box (Mopar part #'s 4638256 and 5227151). According to my expert googling, these two part #'s (4638256 and 5227151) come back to MAPs for turbo Motors, so assuming they are 2 BAR MAPS, like the one in my car (T2). I dont see that my stock MAP, supersedes to any of these other two part numbers. Just curious as to what's the difference in my MAP vs the others (if any).

Anybody with a T2 run MAPS with part # 4638256 and/or part # 5227151?

Great question. I've seen a lot of partnumbet variations that have me asking the same.

You could either bench test or parts swap to get to the bottom of the mystery. I remember when I swapped a 3bar in without a tune. Ran bad! But still ran lol

I may run those part numbers through the parts counter guy at the closest Mopar dealer. Maybe they can shed some light.

My best guess, based on pictures on eBay, is the 5227151 sensor was made in Taiwan around 89 to 90 ish while the 4638256 was made in the USA as early as 92 onwards. Both appear to have the same vendor code.

Would both those 5227151 and 4536698 work in an '89 T2 motor? I'm assuming so because it appears they are both 2 Bar MAPS, from what I found.

According to the Chrysler Parts Catalog...
5227151 - 87/88 TBI (except 87 L-Body)
4638256 - 89/90 TBI
5227152 - 87-90 Turbo

Ok so I did look into it more. Like you said, (eventhough some online Mopar overstock sites say differently) Sensors 5227151 and 4638256 are in fact TBI MAPS, and 5227152 is for the Turbo (Turbo MAP sensor part #s are identified in RED lettering). However I was just communicating with someone today who has an '89 CSX and currently running the 5227151 MAP without issue. If it's a TBI MAP hows that possible?

It is not possible to run a TBI Map on a Turbo car, the calibrations are completely different.
I would want/have to see the Map Sensor and read Map Voltage under different load, vacuum/pressure conditions.
Just as a stock turbo engine controller cannot read a 3 Bar Map a 2 Bar stock engine controller cannot read a TBI 1 Bar Map.
You can see by the chart that that the voltage scale is completely different, a Turbo controller cannot properly read a TBI Map Sensor and vice-versa.

Well unless he has a wrong part # stamped on his MAP for his CSX motor he is running a TBI MAP. I'll screenshot of the convo and post it. I dont get it.
